Gayvention 2010 - more than just a fair

The third Gayvention will take place at Hamburg's charter airport from March 27 to March 28 2010. This convention is aimed at LGBT people and open minded heteros and offers two stages with live concerts, quizzes and other entertainment.

"Sex. Is that all you're interested in?" the convention magazine asks and informs us that "Here you'll find events & friends". And it seems to be true, there's more than sex to Gayvention 2010, though the presence of various sex shops and erotic dance floors are, of course, a given. I dug out the events of lesBian interest from underneath pictures of bare men-flesh so you don't have to. ;)

Entertainment

She came out third in Stefan Raab's idol parody SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD and our readers will already know her: I'm talking about Steffi List. Besides taking part in the opening event she'll perform two times at the convention and present her new album TripS.

Another female artist to perform at the event is Franca Morgano. The ECHO award winning singer songwriter is advertised as someone you won't easily forget once you've seen her live. You can listen to some of her songs on her website.

There's more entertainment than music acts. There's the Lesbisch-Schwule Tupperparty (Lesbian-Gay Tupperware Party), which sounds like fun. There'll be Hetenraten (Guess who's the hetero), live cooking shows, travel quizzes and more.

There'll even be a live wedding at the convention, and if this gets you in the mood there are many exhibiting companies there, which organise lesbian / gay weddings and travels.

Politics

Those of you interested in politics will be glad to hear that there are talks as well:

I'm afraid the official Gayvention 2010 website is mostly in German (the English version seems to be broken), but I hope the ticket information provided here is comprehensible enough as it is, as should be the full list of exhibiting companies.
